What Is Uveitis?
Uvea is middle layer of the eye and it supplies blood to the retina. Swelling of this middle layer is called uveitis. It may occur from both non-infectious and infectious causes. Uveitis usually isn’t serious and goes away with short treatment. However, untreated uveitis can lead to serious complications like cataracts, glaucoma, fluid in the retina, or retinal detachment.
Uveitis is of four types:
