What Are The Uses Of Agomelatine?

Agomelatine is used for treating severe Depression.

Because of its lesser side-effects, it is more preferred medicine for treatment of Depression. The withdrawal symptoms associated with most of the other anti-depressants are seen lesser with this medication, weight gain is also restricted. It has no potential for misuse.

It is not recommended for children below 12 years of age.

Some of the common side-effects include:

  • Slow wave sleep, sleepiness

What Are The Contraindications Of Agomelatine?

Please inform your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Liver impairment (this medicine may increase the production of enzymes in the liver).
  • Kidney disease
