Acarbose is used to control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent blindness, nerve problems, kidney damage, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Effective control of diabetes can also lessen your risk of a heart attack/ stroke.

Acarbose may also be used with other medications like insulin, sulfonylureas such as glipizide, metformin to control diabetes because they all work in different ways.

What Are The Side Effects Of Acarbose?

Most people using Acarbose don’t experience any serious side-effects. However, some patients may experience one or more of the following side effects till their body gets adjusted to Acarbose:
