Carbimazole is used to treat hyperthyroidism. Hyperthyroidism onsets faster but symptoms start appearing slowly. Carbimazole slows down the process of coupling in the enzyme responsible for hyperthyroidism. It can also be used to address fetal hyperthyroidism.

 

What Are The Side Effects Of Carbimazole?

Rashes and reflex itch sensation are common side effects. 

Bone marrow suppression, leading to reduced production of leukocytes, erythrocytes and thrombocytes, fever, sore throat are rare, but serious side effects.
