Lithium is an element found on rocks and effectively acts along with other drugs, vitamins, hormones, enzymes etc. Hence it is used to treat bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia, anaemia, low white cell count, a headache, epilepsy, alcoholism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid), arthritis, Huntington’s disease (an inherited disease in which nerve cells break down over time), Grave’s disease (an immune system disorder).
What Are The Side Effects Of Lithium?
Lithium is usually safe, but in some cases such as an overdose, it may cause side effects such as:
