Pegfilgrastim is used for stimulating the growth of white blood cells in the body. It is given to those patients whose body produces fewer white blood cells due to any reason like chemotherapy or any exposure to radiation.
It is a man-made protein.
What Are The Side Effects Of Pegfilgrastim?
Some of the common side effects include:
- Muscle aches, bone pain, shoulder pain
- Pain in legs or arms
- Pain and redness at the place of injection.
- Some patients may get signs of allergic reaction like difficulty breathing, hives, rash, wheezing, flushing, and swelling of face, tongue, lips, throat or ankles.
- Kidney problems: Decreased or no urination, discoloured urine.
