Propofol is used for inducing and maintaining sleep as part of anaesthesia during surgery for adults and children 3 years of age or above. It also sometimes used for adults to relax and reduce awareness but not cause deep sleep, before an uncomfortable procedure.

Some of the common side effects of are:
- Dizziness, unconsciousness, flushing
- Increased or decreased heart rate, irregular heartbeat
- Difficulty breathing
- Nausea or vomiting
An overdose can cause death.
What Are The Contraindications Of Propofol?
