Magnesiumis a mineral supplement, used for preventing or treating low levels of magnesium in the blood.

Used to treat or prevent bone loss (Osteoporosis); hypoparathyroidism, pseudohypoparathyroidism, familial hypophosphatemia

Magnesiumis usually safe. Some of the side-effects may be:
- Upset stomach
- Calcium deficiency in patients having already low levels of calcium
- Overdose of magnesium can cause:
- Nausea, confusion, vomiting
- Respiratory paralysis
- Extremely lower blood pressure
- Slowed heart rate

Nausea/vomiting, constipation, loss of appetite, increased thirst, increased urination, mental/mood changes, unusual tiredness; side effects of hypercalcemia, hypercalciuria, ectopic calcification, & renal & CV damage.
